Chemo is Better than Housework

Tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, I will have the 6th of 12 Taxol Chemo. I will be half way through the Chemo cycles. YEA! Followed by the 30 radiation treatments. By mid June I should be all through. Here we are at Mike & Lynn McConnell’s 40th anniversary party Saturday night at Mokey’s. I wore my Pat Benatar wig and painted on my eyebrows which are pretty much gone. When I got home, I put on my GRAY wig to show what it looks like, as well the bald, Jack Nicholson/Brittany look. I have come to the conclusion that for me CHEMO is better than housework! The pre-meds make me jumpy for about 3-4 days afterwards, the steroids, benadryl, prednisone, etc. I want to crawl out of my skin. It's like ADHD exposed to radiation. I act like a Jack Russell on speed. My mental acuity is so much better; however I have a very hard time staying on task. It's like you have the remote control and my brain is constantly changing channels.
As I said, the eyebrows are very scarce, and the eye lashes are falling out daily. The previous post concerning the Brazilian... no longer applies. God knew what he was doing when he placed hair on certain areas of a human. Charmin & the texture of sandpaper are not compatible!
The football SPRING FLING is this Saturday. I have sold 44 tickets. Thank you to all who stopped by dropped off or mailed me their checks. I pray that it is cool weather so the Civic Center will be cool.
Today I am going for the hour long massage to use the gift certificate Mary Murchison gave me back before Christmas. I guess I will need to shave the scraggly hairs off my legs that persist on continuing to grow in spite of the hairless body from the thighs up.
The Chemo causes the "flora" in your intestines to change "and not for the good!" How could such a pretty name like FLORA be responsible for such vile odor? I pretty much stay at home so as to not to be the cause of clearing movie theaters, grocery stores, malls, etc. from uncontrollable powerful flagellation. As well as staying away from viruses & germs.
Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers.

Happy Valentine's Day

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL!!!!!

Here I am at my first stop delivering goodies to the Foley Library. All of those steroids have really loaded me up fluid. I came home and took a two hour nap mid day. I really enjoyed seeing Jeannie Emmit and Mary today down in Magnolia Springs. Jane Lindsley was my driver.

I am off from Chemo for this week.

I went to Amelia's to celebrate my 54th Birthday yesterday with some of the girlfriends. We had a great time and fab food as always.

Mardi Gras is in full swing here. Fat Tuesday is early this year, next Tuesday, Feb. 20. We plan on going to Melissa's parade Friday night in Daphne and take Trey.

I will have blood work on Monday and start back on #5 Taxol Tuesday.

My old zanadu@gulftel.com email is up and running again. Much thanks to my long time friends at Computer Back up and Tom for getting me into this millennium w/ Windows XP.

A few tickets still left for the Spring Fling Draw Down for the Foley Football program March 3.

Hope your Valentine's Day was Special.

4th Taxol over...Feb. 6, 2007

PHOTO: no this look is not due to fluid retention. Just me as the Valentine's Cupid delivering goodies to my daughter Jamie.

I am 1/3 off the way through this 12 week cycle of Chemo. The steroids have made me ravenous. I don't really crave anything special, however when I begin to eat I can't seem to stop. The next 4 treatments begin Tuesday, February 20.
Got a new Punk wig last week, I look like Pat Benatar. Dark brown with spiky top.

My hemoglobin level is stable, my white & red cell counts are just 1.00 below normal range. I am really fortunate. Sleep is a problem, even with meds. I am low on energy but unable to sleep for more than 3-4 hours at a time at night. I try not to take naps during the day, but every time I sit down I doze off. I have seen way too many infomercials at 3:00 AM.

We are doing the Cupids Bake Sale again this year for Valentines Day. Donated bake goods sold and delivered to the Valentine of your choice. Proceeds benefit the Performing Arts , The Baldwin Museum of Art Summer Program & the Foley Library Summer Reading Program. You may call to order until Monday Feb. 12 986-6443 from 7-10:30 A.M. We deliver to Elberta, Foley, Magnolia Springs.
The Poetry Alive actors are coming this Sunday for the week. I am unable to host them this year at my house so Kathleen Baskin very generously offered a great deal at her Bed & Breakfast for two rooms for 5 nights. They will be preforming at 11 schools a total of 15 performances. Over 4,500 students from K-8 grade will experience the shows.
The Spring Fling Draw Down for Foley Football will be held March 3, 2007 at the Foley Civic Center. A number of Pride Touchdown members have tickets to sell so be sure you don't miss out on the fun event. Dinner, Dancing & cash prizes of over $11,700.
I am taking my hard drive into Computer Back Up to have all of these files transfered to my new computer over the week end.
I am using my GMail account to email. zaazaa53@gmail.com
I still have T-Shirts..." I Gave" and "My Friend Gave."
