3rd Taxol Chemo Today, Tuesday, Jan. 30, 2007

Today was the 3rd of 12 Taxol Chemos. I will have the 4th next Tuesday the 6th of February, then have a week off between #4 & #5. That will be a great 54th Birthday present on the 13th. However, I kinda would like to hurry up and get this over as soon as possible. Last week-end I was starting a "TO SLAP" list again. I do not know if it is the chemo or just the fact that I am like, so over this Cancer treatment thing and want may life to consist of more than sleeping, eating crap, and going to doctor's appointments. I know there so very many others that have it so horrid and do not have the positive prognosis that I do, but let's face it "It is all about me!"

My eyelashes & eyebrows are beginning to thin out... There is GOOD NEWS!, I will not require a Brazilian wax this spring for swimsuit season either. But NOOOOO! the leg hair is still there. The "CHEMO GOD " has a very twisted sense of humor.

For the past two months the compound has been like a no commercials, never ending "Jerry Springer Show." My sister's 44 year old husband of 10 months moved out the Sunday of Thanksgiving and moved on/in with a 24 year old girl friend with in 6 weeks. Divorce pending.... Life is a roller coaster of emotions.

The Spring Fling Draw Down is Saturday, March 3 at the Foley Civic Center. The band from my AXBD for 2003, 04 & 05 "Cool Raz" will play. Dinner, dancing & $11, 300 in Cash prizes. I have 30 tickets to sell at $100 each. A ticket admits 2 people over 21. Let me know if you want one, or two. I am still not getting out much. You mail me a check & I can mail your ticket to you.

I am very blessed by all of your prayers and well wishes. I have my family and so many good friends that care for me like Mary Rush who takes me each week to Chemo and goes with me to the Doctor on weeks I have appointments. After all of the premeds & benedril they shoot me up with I am like a drunken sailor for hours afterwards.

My outlook email is really screwed up these days, none of my incoming messages download. It looks like I will be forced to go and get the new computer from Computer Back Up I bought last August on Tax free weekend. I am having use my GMail account these days. zaazaa53@gmail.com

Started New Chemo Tuesday, Jan. 16

Finally, I got the "My Friend Gave Boob" shirts printed. And reordered "I Gave Boob " shirts. I have a limited number of sizes currently.
I know that Sue Emment and Bobbie Quates have all ready ordered and paid for their shirts.
I have a few caped sleeved "Friend" shirts with Lycra @ $15.00 the regular "T"s are $12.00.

The dance was a big success. Everyone had a blast! I managed to dance one slow song and part of the last song that was dedicated to me and all survivors "I Will Survive"

I had a good report Tuesday, my blood count was 12.9 which is great, before I started Chemo in November it was 14.4. The new Taxol Chemo which I will have every week for 11 more weeks was not nearly as bad as the Red Devil. The after effects are not as mind numbing. I even have regained some taste buds I think or I am getting used to everything tasting like crap.

I had the upper respiratory crud last week during my "week off chemo" the throat stuff that you cough until you wet your pants and tears come out of your eyes. I gave it to Denny so he could share the joy. This means that all of my Christmas stuff is still up, the plan is to get the storage tubs down from the dormer this week end to un-decorate. Denny did get the outside stuff down last week! Heck, the month of December is pretty much a mental blur anyway. I was doing good to keep milk in the fridge that was semi in date.

The new concession stand is coming along thanks to Coach Watson, Bruce Chisenhall, Joe Maurin, Mr. Dinges and many others. It is to be ready by the Spring Classic football jamboree in mid May.

Here is a Important Hint:
There is a simple way of making lost or stolen mobiles useless to thieves and the phone companies know about it, but keep it quiet. To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following on your phone: star, pound, 0, 6, pound ( * # 0 6 # ) and a fifteen digit code will appear on the screen. This is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it safe. Should your mobile phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset, so even if the thief changes the sim card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody did this, there would be no point in stealing mobile phones. You may want to send this to as many people with mobiles as possible.

No charge for directory assistance Phone companies are charging us $1.00 or more for 411 - information calls when they don't have to. When you need to use the 411 / information option, simply dial 1-800-FREE-411 or 1 800 373 3411 without incurring a charge.

Now that my mental acuity is somewhat better I will try to be better about posting to my blog on a more regular basis.

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. All of my dear friends and supporters have been so instrumental in helping me keep a possitive attitude.

Not enough Medication for ADHD Mode

Well here we are at Mell's Wedding Reception New Year's Eve, the Mother of the Bride looked as beautiful as the Bride.

Here is Peggy Kruger, Linda and Moi'.
Some wig huh?
I know it does look better than my own old hair.
Denny chauffeured, me, Jamie & Jan Suttle to Fairhope in my new car he brought home to me last week (what a surprise). It's a Chevrolet Equinox small SUV. Gray w/ gray leather interior. I finally drove it yesterday for the first time.
I finish the hellish Leukine shots today. My right arm is full of knots, bruises and red feverish spots. I can only get shots, blood pressure & blood work drawn in my right arm because of the lymph nodes removed under my left arm. All of my Chemo goes into the medi-port on the upper right side of my chest, just below my collar bone.
Patti said that I look too good "that I am not going to get any sympathy" if I continue to give Chemo a bad name.
The dance is in over flow mode. I will have not stamina to dance but will enjoy watching everyone else have a good time.
I have finally ordered "My Friend Gave Boob" T-Shirts. They should be ready for the dance tomorrow night.

Red Devil is Over 12-28-06

Well, I haven't posted to my blog since December 13. Either, I felt like crap from CHEMO or was too busy enjoying Christmas and New Years.
I have had some bad days since the 13th. My count went down last week, however I was still able to get the last Red Devil & Cytoxin Chemo over. I had to go to Pensacola for a Lukine shot Saturday because I needed to have 3 in a row to skip New Years.
I am now feeling much better other than a headache now & then and general fatigue.
I have been busy getting things organized for the 10th Annual After Xmas Blues Dance this Saturday, Jan. 6. Marnie & Edwin are coming from Houston & Kim Rockstall from New York City for the dance.
I will begin the new Chemo Jan. 16 each week for 12 weeks followed by 6 weeks of radiation (5 days a week)
*Note: the steroids they give you with the Chemo causes a major outbreak of sun spots ( commonly called age spots) to appear on your hands and face. I am the concealer queen these days. Hopefully they will fade after this is all over.
*Note: The magic bathroom going drug is Merilax (sp?) it's a powder you dissolve in 8oz of water and drink each night. It WORKS!!! Sometimes when you least are prepared. Like at the Art Center last week, I had a "Sharting" incident. I had to go Commando like Brittany to Pier One and Old Tyme Pottery.
And Chemo does produce some flatuation that is all-mighty powerful. I think I could clear an entire stadium.
Pam Magee brought me a bunch era of hats from her aunt this week. She went through breast cancer treatment and is having her reconstruct done soon. They are really cool.
